Individual Psychotherapy
People come to therapy for a variety of reasons such as a marital/relationship crisis, a job related problem, a medical diagnosis, or seek help dealing with depression, anxiety, poor performance at school, or peer issues. Whatever the reason for coming to therapy, the overall goal is to develop more effective ways to deal with one's own feelings and to have healthier realtionships with others at home and work.
Individual psychotherapy is conducted in a safe and confidential office setting that seeks to provide a supportive, holding enviroment condusive to expressing thoughts and feelings that might otherwise be threatening to talk about. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy, or insight-oriented therapy, helps people to understand troublesome patterns of behaving and thinking, established early in life, that continue into adult life. Through the colabrative relationship with the therapist, a person learns new and effective ways of dealing with their emotions and establish more satifying relationships.
